Richmond Symphony Celebrates Harwood Cochrane's 100th Birthday Tonight


The Richmond Symphony is thrilled to be performing a special, by-invitation-only performance for Harwood Cochrane’s 100th birthday on Friday, November 16, 2012 in the Carpenter Theatre at Richmond CenterStage.  Harwood Cochrane is the founder and CEO of Overnight Transportation, a Richmond-based company that was purchased by UPS Freight. 

Richmond Symphony Music Director Steven Smith expresses, “We are thrilled to play a major role in celebrating the 100th birthday of a singular individual and Richmond treasure, Mr. J. Harwood Cochrane. It is an honor for the Richmond Symphony to perform in our home at CenterStage at his request. We are all looking forward to a fantastic party!”

The program will feature the Richmond Symphony orchestra and chorus as well as composer and pianist Jan Mulder, the Mulder Boys (the three sons of Jan Mulder), soprano Anne O’Byrne and violinist Jeanine Wynton.
