Endowment
The Richmond Symphony Foundation is organized and established for cultural and charitable purposes, benefiting the Richmond Symphony through its endowment. “Fanfare – Funding the Power of Music” , the campaign to increase the endowment, raised 112% of its $5 million goal between August 2005-July 2011. We welcome gifts to the endowment, which help build a solid foundation for the Richmond Symphony’s future.
Gifts to the Richmond Symphony Foundation’s endowment are invested under the guidance of the Foundation trustees. The principal of the gift remains intact and is not spent. Interest from your gift will be used to support the Richmond Symphony for years to come. Unrestricted gifts can be made for general purposes, or you may make a gift to one of the named funds with earnings going toward a specific purpose such as the Richmond Symphony Youth Orchestras. (If you would like to established a named fund for a specific purpose, please contact Cheryl Yancey at 788-4717, extension 115 or cyancey@richmondsymphony.com. )

Planned Giving - "Leave A Legacy"
As you plan your estate, we hope you will keep in mind the Richmond Symphony. Recently, the Symphony has been fortunate to learn that some of its patrons have included the orchestra in their estate plans. These gifts help us maintain our financial stability, expand our educational programs, grow artistically, and increase our community outreach. These Symphony patrons become members of the Rennolds Society, organized to recognize and thank those who have included the Symphony in their estate plans. Regardless of the planned giving technique used or the size of the gift, we are grateful to be remembered in this way.
We can help you take those first important steps toward planning your estate with some basic information. You will learn how the most popular and useful charitable giving techniques can help you fulfill your philanthropic and financial goals. The rewards are many! You can guarantee security for yourself and your loved ones, support charitable organizations of importance to you, reap financial and tax benefits, and find peace of mind. We would be happy to give general information but we always recommend that you consult your own financial or legal advisor.
When you notify us that the Symphony is included in your estate plans, you will automatically become a member of the Rennolds Society. Members receive invitations to concerts, receptions, the Symphony’s Annual Meeting and other special events. With your permission, we would include your name with members of the Rennolds Society in concert programs. (If you prefer to remain anonymous, we will honor your wishes and respect the confidentiality of your gift.)
