    (World Premiere)

A laid back evening with a world-renowned composer? Yes, please! Recently named the most-performed composer of his generation, Mason Bates serves as the first composer-in-residence of the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. His music enlivens imaginative narrative forms with novel orchestral writing, the harmonies of jazz and the rhythms of techno, and it has been the first symphonic music to receive widespread acceptance for its unique integration of electronic sounds. It’s the perfect start to your Friday night! Relax with a drink and let the evening’s host, along with the conductor, take you behind the scenes of the music.

This performance is in partnership with the 2019 Commemoration, AMERICAN EVOLUTION™.

Please join us for an exclusive post-concert after party with Symphony musicians, just across Broad Street at Vagabond!
