How long do most concerts last?

Our Altria Masterworks and Genworth Financial Symphony Pops concerts usually last between 1 ½ and 2 hours. The Metro Collection concerts usually last around 1 ½ hours while our Union First Market Bank LolliPops are about an hour. Our all new Symphony Rush Hour concerts also last about one hour.

Are there discounts available for college students?

Absolutely! College student subscriptions are available for $5 per concert with a valid university ID and e-mail address (seating restrictions apply). Call 804.788.1212 for more information.

For any individual concert, students with a valid student ID can buy tickets for $8. Tickets must be purchased in person at the Richmond CenterStage Box Office (M-F; 10am-5pm).

Can I bring my children to concerts?

Yes! Children 18 and under receive free admission with the purchase of an adult ticket for all Altria Masterworks concerts. If those concerts you feel are too long for your children, our Union First Market Bank LolliPops series is a perfect introduction to the symphony for kids and they are only an hour long!

What if I arrive late?

Concerts begin promptly at the scheduled time and latecomers will be seated at a natural break in the music guided by front of house staff. If you must leave the hall during the performance, please do so quietly. Re-entry while the concert is in progress is at the discretion and guidance of the ushers.

What should I wear to an orchestra performance?

Our audience usually dresses in business casual; however, there is no dress code. Please feel free to wear whatever makes you comfortable.

When do I applaud?

During our Altria Masterworks and Metro Collection concerts, it is customary to hold your applause until all movements are complete. However, if you feel the urge to applaud, PLEASE do so! During the Genworth Financial Symphony Pops and Union First Market Bank LolliPops concerts, you might find the people applaud freely throughout!

Can I take pictures?

The use of cameras and recording devices is strictly prohibited inside the concert hall.

What if I have accessible seating needs?

Can I receive a discount if I'm bringing a group of people to a performance?

Can I get a refund if I am unable to attend?

All ticket sales are final. Subscribers are able to exchange their tickets to a future concert if those tickets are received before the original concert date.

What are the benefits of becoming a subscriber? How do I subscribe?

Subscribers can save up to 15% off single ticket prices! Subscribers also receive first priority on seating as well as the ability to purchase tickets before public on sale. Subscribers get personalized customer service through the Patron Services hotline (804.788.1212).
