Something Old, Something New, Something Spectacular! The POPS Series has it all! Start out with a little Gershwin, add a hearty helping of holiday cheer, some sizzling hot Latin rhythms, and then top it off with a deliciously decadent tribute to the big screen. This series is the perfect choice to satisfy the appetites of the most eclectic of music lovers.
This season, take a musical journey that pays tribute to the genius of Franz Joseph Haydn. Considered by many the "father" of the modern day symphony, he was a friend to Mozart and teacher of Beethoven. From Austria to England, Haydn was an international superstar with an expansive collection of compositions including no less than 104 symphonies. Intimate and up close, subscribe to all four chamber orchestra concerts and settle in with Associate Conductor Erin R. Freeman, two of our Music Director candidates, and the musicians of the Richmond Symphony for an incredible set of orchestral gems, fantastic soloists and the sparkle, humor and influence of music by Haydn.
