SUMMARY:Richmond Symphony Youth Orchestra
DESCRIPTION:The Richmond Symphony Youth Orchestra\, the most advanced ensemble of the Richmond Symphony Youth Orchestra Program\, takes the stage at the Carpenter Theatre the final time this season to perform Tchaikovsky’s lush Symphony No. 5. This concert will also feature violist Joe Legutko\, winner of the 2024–2025 Richmond Symphony Youth Orchestra Concerto Competition\, and Sylvie Dow\, RSYO’s harpist. \nIn addition to performing with RSYO\, Percussion Ensemble\, led by director Dr. Justin Alexander\, will present chamber works rehearsed throughout the year. \nHear Richmond’s up-and-coming musical talent and inspire the budding musician in your family. The Symphony’s Youth Orchestra Program is the premier orchestral training program of Central Virginia and RSYO its most advanced ensemble of student musicians.  This concert will feature violist Joe Legukto\, winner of the 2025 Richmond Symphony Student Concerto Competition. \nFREE; no ticket required

DESCRIPTION:Nearly 150 young musicians will take the stage at Carpenter Theatre as String Sinfonietta\, Camerata Strings\, and Youth Concert Orchestra perform their spring concert. Support the next generation of orchestral musicians\, ranging in age from 8 to 18\, as they present a culmination of all their hard work throughout the year. In addition\, Camerata Strings will present a special world-premiere commission by the Richmond Symphony’s Composer-in-Residence\, Damien Geter.
