SUMMARY:The Science of Sound
DESCRIPTION:Join your Richmond Symphony for an exploration of The Science of Sound! Presented in collaboration with the Science Museum of Virginia\, this program invites you to discover how orchestral instruments create sound and the mechanics of sound waves from outer space to the deep sea. This concert will feature Haydn’s Symphony No. 94\, Gregory Smith’s VIBE\, and John Adams’ Short Ride in a Fast Machine and is narrated by Teddy McPherson. \nBe there at 2pm as the Science Museum of Virginia gives a pre-show demonstration: Listen up! We’re exploring the science behind sound waves. We’ll blow your mind—but not your eardrums—with the power of sound.” \nWhile designed for ages 7-13\, all ages are welcome. Children 2 and under are free if seated in an adult’s lap. Seating for this concert is general admission. \n \n
