SUMMARY:The Broadberry Presents: RVA Live!
DESCRIPTION:Mark your calendars! On Saturday\, September 23rd some of our favorite RVA musicians will be joining the Richmond Symphony for an evening of collaboration at the Carpenter Theatre. Tickets are on sale\, starting at $10.  \nRVA Live! is a showcase designed to incorporate the musical arts of all genres and styles that represent Richmond’s top talent; and for the first time\, bringing these acts together on one stage. From classical orchestra to rock and roll\, “RVA Live!” will demonstrate and highlight the beauty of Richmond’s historical and ever-rising music scene\, proving RVA to be a top music destination. \nOrchestrations and arrangements by Trey Pollard (Spacebomb Records) and Marlysse Simmons and Toby Whitaker (Bio Ritmo). \nRVA Live! Artist Information \nMatthew E. White – www.matthewewhite.com \nNatalie Prass – www.natalieprass.com \nTim Barry – www.timbarryrva.com \nBio Ritmo – www.bioritmo.com \nClair Morgan – www.clairmorgan.com \nThe Broadberry – www.thebroadberry.com \n“The idea of RVA Live! is something I’ve been contemplating for some time and I am excited that the right partnership has presented itself.” says The Broadberry’s Lucas Fritz.  “With the help and guidance from the good people at the Richmond Symphony\, it is finally happening. It is truly an honor to help curate such a special night of music with the talented artists involved. I had the pleasure of working on Matthew E. White and Natalie Prass’ debut albums here in town. All the other bands I hold near and dear to my heart as they’ve really helped make The Broadberry and The Camel the wonderful venues that they have become over the past eight years. Bringing together all the different genres on one stage\, especially Carpenter Theatre with the Richmond Symphony\, is going to be truly amazing.” \n

SUMMARY:TRIO
DESCRIPTION:GLORIA (SPAIGHT/ VIVALDI)\nA beautiful dance interpretation of Vivaldi’s Gloria\, last seen in Richmond in 1992. Spaight’s sensitive choreography invokes the passion\, joy\, and spirituality of this glorious music through a series of intricate ensembles\, intimate duets\, and exquisite solos. \nJOURNEY (AIELLO/ ARNOLD)\nJourney pays tribute to the strength\, vitality\, and physical virtuosity of the male dancer. Choreographed in 1979\, Aiello’s ballet abstractly suggests travel by land\, sea\, and sky. \nSILENCE (PATTERSON/ PÄRT)\nSilence\, inspired by the music by Arvo Pärt\, evokes a sense of space and timelessness. “…it is about finding peace within the stillness\, the silence when we find ourselves alone in a quiet moment\, in the dark of night\, or on a walk with miles in front of us to conquer.” (Gina Patterson) \n\n\n
