Please refer to our official statement regarding Corona Virus.\nA pleasure for both eyes and ears\, this Lollipops program features dancers from the School of Richmond Ballet ensembles\, performing a newly choreographed work set to music from Aaron Copland’s timeless Appalachian Spring—a ballet containing the beloved Shaker melody\, “Simple Gifts.” \nA pre-concert festival in Rhythm Hall will take place at 10 a.m.\, featuring our instrument petting zoo\, Cook County Bluegrass\, the Richmond School of Ballet\, free face painting\, and a craft from Children’s Museum of Richmond. DESCRIPTION:This event has been postponed until further notice due to situations surrounding COVID-19 (coronavirus).\n\nLed by Richmond Symphony Chorus Director Erin Freeman and VSU Concert Choir Director Johnnella Edmonds\, the program will include a range of choral works by Brahms\, Jake Runestad\, Caroline Shaw\, Paul Mealor\, and Moses Hogan\, among others. Ingrid Keller\, pianist and University of Richmond instructor\, will accompany the performance.\n\nIn partnership with Chesterfield County\, this joint concert supports the Richmond Symphony’s outreach mission\, giving access to classical music performances in the greater community.
