Richmond Symphony Educational Ensembles
“It was great to hear from the musicians about how they personally began playing their respective
instruments. Many of them began with an interest in music at close to the same age as these students
are now. Students could make connections about how they could follow similar paths.”
– Music Teacher
Richmond Symphony Educational Ensembles have performed concerts annually for school children in Chesterfield, Goochland, Hanover, Henrico, Powhatan, and Richmond Public Schools as well as private schools and for homeschool groups. Performances for students of all ages are upbeat and informal, bringing music to life! Programs are age-appropriate and last 30–45 minutes.
Note: Elementary school programs are most effective when presented to audiences of 300 students or less. Same day, back-to-back ensemble performances at one location are available to accommodate larger school audiences.
For questions about cost, logistical details, and/or to schedule a performance at your school, please email Marcey W. Leonard, Community Partnerships Manager, at mleonard@richmondsymphony.
