SUMMARY:Cello Virtuosity
DESCRIPTION:“Perfect intonation\, style\, and total involvement\,” raved New York Concert Review upon experiencing the artistry of Sphinx Competition winner Sterling Elliott. Experience it yourself as Sterling Elliott performs the sparkling Cello Concerto in D of Haydn. Plus\, Chia-Hsuan Lin conducts music by two 20th\ncentury giants that glance backwards to earlier masters. Prokofiev’s “Classical Symphony” models itself on Mozart. Stravinsky’s delightful “Pulcinella” pays homage to Baroque giant Giovanni Pergolesi.

SUMMARY:Shaw & St. Georges

His String Quartet No. 5 is energetic\, complex and an inspiration. In our time\, the music of Caroline Shaw has earned her a Pulitzer Prize. Her Entr’acte perfectly links three centuries through the Chevalier’s quartet to the romantic Third Quartet by Felix Mendelssohn.\nSpecial thanks to our Summer ChamberFest sponsor:

The multi-day holiday involves family and friends gathering to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died\, and helping support their spiritual journey. It is viewed not as a day of sadness but as a day of celebration because their loved ones awaken and celebrate with them. \nhttps://vimeo.com/467902304 \nClick HERE to read more about Chia-Hsuan Lin\, Conductor. \nClick HERE to read more about the Latin Ballet of Virginia. \nClick HERE for information regarding our COVID-19 health & safety procedures. \nPlease note that all artists\, programs\, and prices are subject to change without notice. \nDue to social distancing\, there will be no pre-concert festival for this performance.
