Postponed: Menuhin Competition Richmond 2020

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update:

In an effort to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, and in line with recommendations from both international and U.S. public health officials, the Menuhin Competition Trust and the Richmond Symphony have decided to postpone the Menuhin Competition Richmond 2020 until May 13-23, 2021. About the Competition:

The Menuhin Competition, also known as the Olympics of the Violin, will bring 44 of the world’s best young violinists to Richmond to compete, develop as musicians and work with talented professional musicians. The Richmond Symphony is very excited to be one of the co-hosts of the Competition, along with the City of Richmond, University of Richmond, VCU and VPM. You can see the Richmond Symphony play in the Opening Gala concert, the Senior Finals, and the Closing Gala.

Most recently, the Competition has been held in Geneva, Switzerland (2018); London, UK (2016); Austin, TX (2014); Beijing, China (2012); and Oslo, Norway (2010).
