2026/27 SEASON

Intimate, chamber orchestra concerts that allow you to get up close and personal with the musicians of the Richmond Symphony. This subscription includes three Sunday afternoon concerts at Blackwell Auditorium at Randolph-Macon College. These performances are held at 3pm on Sundays and are General Admission. Come early for a free pre-concert talk at 2pm.

SCHEDULE:

Experience a compelling evening of music led by Richard Robbins and featuring the Richmond Symphony and Richmond Symphony Chorus. This program brings together Caroline Shaw’s To the Hands, a moving and thought-provoking work for choir and strings; Britten’s vibrant Sinfonietta, Op. 1, brimming with youthful energy and color; and his luminous choral miniature “Concord” from Gloriana. The concert concludes with Copland’s “The Promise of Living” from The Tender Land, a heartfelt and uplifting tribute to shared purpose and hope. Be there for an unforgettable concert that weaves together voices and instruments in a powerful celebration of unity and expression.

Enjoy an evening of powerful orchestral storytelling led by conductor Valentina Peleggi. The program opens with Cheryl Frances-Hoad’s atmospheric Invocatio. Cellist Jason McComb then takes centerstage for Saint-Saëns’s dazzling Cello Concerto No. 1, a virtuosic showcase of passion and lyricism. The concert concludes with Schubert’s dramatic Symphony No. 4, “Tragic,” a work of striking intensity and energy. Experience a captivating performance that blends bold contemporary voices with beloved masterworks.
