RVA Symphony at Home

Although our last season came to an abrupt halt in March, we’re grateful to have found ways to keep playing. What started as an experiment with our spring online Music Marathon developed into our first-ever online summer concert series and now we’ve arrived at the newly adapted 20/21 Season: Without Limits. Our season’s theme, launched in February, could not have been more timely. This fall brings a new normal, a new Music Director, and the opportunity to safely and creatively transcend barriers to live music, art, and the human experience. We’re working hard to bring the comfort of music safely into the concert hall and into your home.
We play where you stay.

“Our 2020-21 season is an inspired tribute to Richmond’s spirit of resilience, hope, and connection as we navigate these unprecedented times. Now more than ever music has the power to heal, to inspire, and to connect all of us. We are excited to bring music on stage once again and have risen to the challenge of reimagining the program to make the live experience meaningful and enjoyable while as safe as possible. We are excited to be offering live events and livestream experiences to connect us together in these isolating times and hope you will be surprised and delighted by the program as it unfolds.”

— Valentina Peleggi, Music Director

Richmond Symphony School of Music (RSSoM):

We’ve officially launched our new online music school: Richmond Symphony School of Music (RSSoM). In an effort to continue our music education programs in a digital format, RSSoM serves music lovers of all ages! Our community music school provides a broad range of programming to Central Virginia, the Commonwealth, and beyond, as a way to carry out our mission to provide accessible music education for all and where all styles and traditions of music are valued, respected, and pursued with dedication, passion, and love.

Enrollment is still open for two adult music history classes, running through mid-December: Introduction to Jazz and Black Music Discovery: Musicians of African Descent in Classical Music.  Register for individual class sessions for just $12 each!
