Prepare yourself to be transported to 1920s Paris as the Richmond Symphony transforms the Carpenter Theatre at the Dominion Energy Center into a bustling French cityscape! One of Gershwin’s most famous compositions, An American in Paris shares the story of an American soldier abroad, his experience with love and loss, and the emotional journey that comes with being far from home.

The Richmond Symphony and The School of Richmond Ballet team up to bring you this Gershwin classic. Kids will be mesmerized by the stunning combination of music and dance as they follow the story of Jerry and his adventures in Paris.

Arrive early and join us for a free pre-concert festival, featuring our instrument petting zoo and enjoy interactive activities for the whole family that will enhance your concert experience. Pre-concert festivities begin at 10am in Rhythm Hall. LolliPops concerts are ideal for children ages 5 and up, but music lovers of all ages are welcome.
