  • Date Saturday, November 30, 2019
  • Time 11:00 am
  • Venue Carpenter Theatre
  • Conductor Erin Freeman

Kick-off the holiday season with the Richmond Symphony! This charming animated film tells the story of a young boy’s magical friendship with a snowman. Enjoy other holiday favorites during this program as well.

Join us at 10am for a free pre-concert festival at 10 AM!

Embrace the beauty of winter with our pre-concert festival in Rhythm Hall. Kids and kids-at-heart can touch and play the orchestral instruments in the instrument petting zoo (from Music & Arts). The Dance Candle will perform excerpts from The Nutcracker. The whole family will enjoy a model train of the Polar Express (from Tiny Tim’s Toys). Explore the fun of puppetry (from Puppets on Broad) and making a snowman craft to take home (from the Children’s Museum of Richmond). Before you leave, get your face painted and take a photo with our very own Snowman! Check out the exciting offerings from the Children’s Hospital of Richmond (Festival Sponsor), Atlantic Union Bank (Concert Sponsor), Richmond Family Magazine, PBS Kids, and SOAR 365. The festival is only from 10-11 am, so come early so you have time to enjoy all of the “cool” winter activities!

This hour-long show starts at 11 AM. An ASL interpreter is available at each performance, and these shows are now sensory-friendly!
