Prepare to be transported to 1920s Paris as the Richmond Symphony and the School of Richmond Ballet team up to transform the Carpenter Theatre, Dominion Energy Center into a bustling French cityscape! This unique interpretation of one of Gershwin’s most famous compositions, An American in Paris, shares the story of three adventurous American college students experiencing Paris for the first time and the emotional journey that comes with being far from home.

The audience will be mesmerized by the stunning combination of music and dance as they follow the story of these travelers and their adventures through Paris. You won’t want to miss our version of this Gershwin classic!

Arrive early and join us for a free pre-concert festival, featuring our instrument petting zoo and interactive activities for the whole family that will enhance the concert experience. Pre-concert festivities begin at 10am in Rhythm Hall. Lollipops concerts are ideal for children 5 and up, but music and dance lovers of all ages are welcome.
